"... I'm out. I should just toss it all on eBay, let someone else deal with this shit."

To elaborate...

~ Several years ago ~

• Planned to mod my GBC with whatever (I think) BennVenn's first GBC screen kit was
• Ordered two translucent shells of different colors, planning to mix their front and back halves
• Installed a blue power LED, because the "back half shell" and buttons are blue
• Wanted to get it from UK store, as they were geographically the closest and least likely to cause me customs grief, but they never actually got it in stock
  • Oh, the different shells didn't fit together well, either
• Put the GBC and parts into a drawer

~ Fast-forward to January 2023 ~

Whenever I get into social situations in which I might potentially be at fault of something, I tend to subconsciously record the details of the situation in question as closely as possible — maybe to be able to evaluate it in retrospect? To be able to relay my point of view in case I'd be questioned about what happened? I don't know.

For example, earlier today, I was waiting for a bus, and as it was arriving at the stop, some older guy cut in right in front of me as we're trying to get on, I bumped into him slightly because I didn't expect nor immediately see anyone there, then he started mumbling smack at me, as if I cut in front of him or something.

Some time afterwards while on the bus, I first realized that what I mentioned initally is what my subconsciousness had done in certain situations before, and was doing now, too.

My consciousness then immediately likened it to something I'd heard about before — NASA's contingency procedures after catastrophic failures/losses, namely the Columbia and Challenger disasters: Locking the doors, freezing terminals, gathering telemetry and other data, etc.

That at least seems to be what my head does after such awkward situations, more or less. It reiterates the events leading up to this point, ensuring they're recorded to memory, to be accessible quickly if required in the near future.

I guess this could be seen as a good thing, in case I was indeed ever questioned about the situation, but it also seems like I subconsciously always see myself potentially at fault, no matter what?

Even if someone else clearly cut in line in front of me.
