Looks like someone (not me, just boosting this) made an English translation of both the PS3 and 3DS versions of EX Troopers. More detail at the link: https://fantranslators.info/2022/11/22/e-x-troopers-english-translation-patch/

Indeed, a very, very happy 10th anniversary to the game that, in a better world, would've been the actual third Lost Planet game globally. Anyone who's followed me for a long enough time knows just how strongly I've always felt about this game; one of the absolute best-playing of its generation, full of heart and a stellar soundtrack that hasn't aged a day. (In fact, Capcom gave composer Yasumasa Kitagawa very rare top billing in the credits in recognition of his immense contributions to the game's identity). I will forever continue to hold out hope that they'll eventually give this game another shot specifically with the intention of taking it global like they absolutely should have all along. But in the meantime, I can tell you that here in Japan, physical copies remain cheap, especially PS3, and if you can jump on it, DO IT. (Or pray that it eventually gets over its softlocking woes in RPCS3 because it's a hell of a looker upressed.) You'll recognize a lot of modern Monster Hunter in this game in an overall much more accessible (but still appreciably deep and meaty) package, as a lot of key staff on games like World had a big hand in this game.
Anyway, I'm off to buy that new music completely sight unseen because I did it five years ago for the full album and by god, I'll do it again. ๐
So I was talking with @xkeeper about window sitters - those old programs with anime girls that sit on top of your Windows app menu bars. She couldn't remember where it came from, so I looked it up and found the old Otakuworld download link from 2001. https://otakuworld.com/index.html?/toys/preview/toys/awmul302.html
Looking at the page, I thought to myself - "who are these Elemental Soft people, anyway?" So I gave it a search, and I was surprised to find out that Elemental Soft had a homepage - and when I clicked, the last news posts were recent. Turns out they've kept going all the way from the 90s until now and they're still making desktop accessories. They have a line of 3D modelled desktop accessories, and their most recent release, in 2018, is a Kemono Friends-themed desktop toy. I really figured they wouldn't be around anymore.
