This short story came out before the show proper began airing. It takes place between the prologue episode and episode 01. It's got a pretty significant reveal that's informed how I've been interpreting the show. I hadn't thought about it before, but folks who couldn't read it in Japanese just didn't have this context the whole time, huh?

One note on the translation: where Aerial describes Prospera as "the parent who created me", in the Japanese text they're saying "the parent who birthed me". It's the sort of phrasing that I'm pretty sure could easily be entirely metaphorical, but at this point I'm not cutting off any potential theories...
