what exactly is AEW offering as an "alternative" to WWE at this point? genuine question because i'm struggling to come up with an answer. i feel like every last thing people would point to as establishing their identity as a WWE alternative is gone at this point. like, they put on good matches with good wrestlers, and admittedly they're still the best in that regard, but what the fuck else do they have? i don't really think you can coast on putting on better matches, even the greatest workers can't outwork bad booking forever

i'm still mostly enjoying their stuff so i'm gonna keep regularly watching but it's getting real fucking close to me not even thinking about turning on dynamite unless they announce something so monumental that i couldn't possibly wait 24 hours to see it or just hear about it later

I think the big thing is the cross-over opportunity - and they're in no way the only promotion doing that at this point, it's just that WWE are the only ones who aren't.
That said, I've definitely been kinda on-and-off with wrestling for a while now, just catch up on a bunch at once every now and then, and it's definitely been way more off lately. :(
