fallout is usually very good with determining line of sight to enemies. there aren't many times where i feel like i'm getting shot through walls/around corners and i'm never able to do the same to enemies
so imagine my surprise when i notice the game says i can hit a rat in the room i'm standing outside of despite there being a wall in the way. the doorway is further down. the angle doesn't line up
what i didn't expect is that the windows aren't just decorations - the game determines what you can see through them, and you can shoot through them
now that i write it out and look at the screenshot it seems so fucking obvious that this would be something the game allows. why the fuck wouldn't you be able to do that, right? but idk! it never crossed my mind! shit's fuckin' cool! i love underestimating a game and finding out you're wrong about it
now i really wonder how it functions, though. if the rat was right up against the other side of the window, could i still hit it? does it take the enemy's height into account? if a human were stood there i could shoot them easily but a rat would be totally obscured by the lower part of the wall. why am i even shooting all these rats? i was here for a fucking water chip
