yes this was inspired by having just read the death of wcw how'd you know
i'm far from one of those people who thinks wrestling can only be good if it's attitude era horseshit. in fact i'd go as far as to say uncritical reverence for that era immediately makes you Very Sus. but i also didn't grow up in that time at all and feel like i'm constantly missing out on context that a lot of wrestling fans around my age and older tend to have just from being lifelong fans
not looking forward to most of it tbh 80% of that era looks dreadful. but i need to get into regularly watching wrestling again and idk how to do it when i don't have interest in the major american companies and wrestle universe (which i only just now reminded myself to subscribe to) is only gonna get me so far
also i've seen a bit from wwf in mid-2000 and honestly the chaotic nonsense storytelling they have going on in that year is great. like a lot of it is bad, but it's usually pretty damn fun. which is all i give a shit about when it comes to wrestling. if i am laughing or going "OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT" then it is good wrestling
