trying to find a new music player for android is just as much a nightmare as i remember it being because for some reason nobody who develops these ever lets you sort a list of songs in the same way that you can with musicbee or itunes or the last music player i was using (until i got fed up with it taking literally 10 seconds to load when i open it) where it first sorts by artist, then sorts by albums within the artist

so, for example, let's say artist A has albums B and C. each album has songs 1 through 3. in musicbee, you can sort it such that the songs are listed:

Artist A - Album B - Song 1
Artist A - Album B - Song 2
Artist A - Album B - Song 3
Artist A - Album C - Song 1
Artist A - Album C - Song 2
Artist A - Album C - Song 3

i've now downloaded three android music players that, when sorting a list of songs by artist, ends up with this:

Artist A - Album B - Song 1
Artist A - Album C - Song 1
Artist A - Album B - Song 2
Artist A - Album C - Song 2
Artist A - Album B - Song 3
Artist A - Album C - Song 3

i'm losing my fucking mind. is this really how people want their music sorted when they choose to sort a list of songs by artist?? am i the weird one?? is it weird to want a list of all your individual songs sorted by artist and also sorted by album?? i don't get it

@xenogears

i found one. all i had to do was download an entirely separate storefront specifically for open source apps and download it from there. it feels sketchy but i'll take sketchy over improperly sorted music any day
