Okay, so the breadmaker's electronics are fine. What has happened is that the agitator at the bottom of the pan has broken. It's a clean shear right below the gasket, so the seal on the bread-pan is intact. The spurs from that part are missing, but I've had three moves so heaven knows where that went.
So here I am, staring at an obsolete yet perfectly-functional breadmaker that just needs a new pan that, even if I'm sure it's a proper fit, would cost more than just replacing the whole thing.
I've never felt so old in my life. 👵
