lisp is a language where everything is made out of pairs and toenail clippings.
in a similar sense, tcl (pronounced "tickle", usually) is a language where everything is made out of strings. it's kinda neat, and also very capable of eldrich horrors.
Some noteworthy stuff about Tcl is that the original AIM backend was written in it. It's also of note in that it was the first scripting language that made Richard Stallman so mad that it wasn't lisp he spammed their usenet forum and got banned.
