clicking on a user in discord, and having the window scroll part of itself out of view -- literally revealing the empty gray app window below the content, and pushing the top ui out of frame -- because discord popped a "want obnoxious effects like this?" banner ad above the profile, making it too large to fit

i love modern applications so much. like as much as "computers were better two decades ago" is a meme, it's not wrong, either

reading the sa yospos tech bubble thread about how microsoft focused for so long on ensuring backwards compatibility, all to throw out a ton of that because "but it's not modern!" and, much like win 8, win 11 threw out a ton of old, working things in service of new, broken things that are missing a ton of shit

sorry, the new taskbar doesn't like being on the side. why? because it's new, and we didn't add that feature, and probably never will. you are using your computer wrong.
