somewhat surprisingly, the real-to-visual mapping of reel spaces isn't too cheaty; most squares have one, while the lowest-paying ones are only modestly more common than they would appear. there's effectively 2 ½ extra cherry spaces and 1 extra apple space.
the expected payout of the non-coin squares is slightly over 100%; adding in the coin space bumps it solidly above that, and then there are the occasional double or triple-payout bonuses as well.
if this game was fair, and you were aware of the basic rules and (purported) payout odds for the symbols, it would be a very clear player-advantage game.
it's a good thing it is not fair.
