in what i am sure is a shocking surprise to those of you who have been following this story, the crap poker game also cheats.

anyway, i have no idea what kind of poker this game actually is. if you have any clues, feel free to comment.

basic rules:

it starts with a "JP-2" round. paytables are normal value.

  • bet 1 to 10 credits.
  • deal 3 cards, one face down. (2 face up, 1 face down)
  • bet 0 to (previous bet) credits.
  • deal 2 more cards, one face down. (3 face up, 2 face down)
  • bet 0 to (previous bet) credits.
  • deal 1 more card. (4 face up, 2 face down)
  • bet 0 to (previous bet) credits.
  • deal 1 more card and reveal face-down cards (5 face up, 2 face down → 7 face up)
  • pay out.

if at any time you bet 0, you can't bet on later rounds. they automatically progress.

win or lose, the next round is "JP-3". paytable value is 1.5x. the game plays the same, but your bets are limited by what you bet in the "JP-2" round.

example:

in the first round, you start with a bet of 10. the cards look bad so you toss out 5 credits on the second bet. you get nothing good so you bet 0, and the rest of the hand plays out without asking for any more bets (since you did not bet before).

in the second round, you can only bet up to what you did before.

once "JP-3" is over, it returns to JP-2 with the normal paytable.

it's clearly some kind of stud poker, but i haven't had any luck actually finding anything quite like it online.

in reply to @xkeeper's post:

that's what someone else said, though afaict the first round in mississippi has 1 up 2 down, compared to this one's 2 up 1 down

there's also the issue that this is a video poker variant and not against another player (though you could argue it's against a dealer, sort of?)
