Google Maps: welp you're in a traffic jam. Here's an idea, though: you could take the offramp out of the traffic jam, then do a U-turn, then take the adjacent onramp back into the same traffic jam. It saves 0 minutes but it would be funny as shit
Sometimes I wonder how often google is just doing traffic experiments with their maps routes
I've seen a lot of people doing this and other moves more frequently over the years and I wonder just how dependent others are on using GPS for every drive now. Even their daily ones.
A lot of last minute lane switching like people don't read road signs. Some weird maneuvers like taking off ramps only to merge back in roughly the same place. People going off of collectors and onto local roads only to end up back on the collector at roughly the same spot. All these things just make the traffic worse and the latter distributes it to local streets where people are just trying to get to their homes or local businesses. It's really confusing.
One time i was on a long trip on an interstate and google was like "hey! If you take the next offramp and make a U-turn back onto the interstate, it will add an hour to your trip :)"
