From what I understand, you like Sonic 06 o,o (I think you put it on a top games of all time image or something?) and if so, I wanna hear you gush about it! Same with any other Sonic game honestly, but I'm interested in this one the most because it just feels like it would be interesting c:

(if you do, please be mindful of Reviewer Brain! No idea if you're the type to do that, but I don't need or want to hear rebuttals to common consensus or anything, I just wanna hear whatever you wanna say!)

Yeah, it's one of my all-time favourite games! I got an XBOX360 in 2007 mainly to play Sonic 06 (and also Lost Planet), so it was also my first "console" game (aside from NES and Sega Mega Drive games).

I actually wrote a short blorb about why I love this game so much for an article that never came out, so, if it's okay with you, I'll post it as my answer, because I still feel the same about the game ^__^

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) has a lot to offer if you decide to play it by its own rules: a beautiful melodramatic story, fantastic music, good writing and good characterisations of the whole cast, intentionally funny and silly town characters and town missions (that many people choose to ignore!), and, of course, wonderful and weird design decisions that are everywhere in this game. To me Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) became an endless pool of inspiration. It offers fun and excitement in a way that I would like to explore and bring into my own games. It’s the best “fuck around and find out” kind of energy, it’s cool as hell.

The game is also incredibly sweet and gentle, and I still get teary-eyed watching the final cutscene and credits. I think Sonic games are at their best when they are about Sonic helping other characters through a crisis by simply being there for them and giving them space. Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) writers understood that, and created one of my favourite games ever.

Sonic helping women through a crisis? That's THE Sonic for me, haha

The final cutscene that gets me crying every time: https://youtu.be/bmtzPw9FwDU
Elise is so relatable, I also wouldn't care about the world if to save it I would need to reset the timeline and forget Sonic T___T

I think I should also mention that I watched Sonic 06 Fandub almost on loop during a very stressful period of time in 2019 and it definitely helped me get through it and left an additional "alternative" imprint on my already deep appreciation of the game...
