the TGM console port (and season) has me returning to tetris heavy once again so here are my 2023 tetris goals, in order of importance:
- maxout in tetris 2 + bombliss
- consistent 500+ in TGM1 20G mode, then going for the GM finally
- acquire copy of tetris DX
- clear Sega Tetris (1999) on hard mode [i came close in 2020]
- attempt an endurance run of Tengen Tetris (using this hack for visibility's sake, or not)
- and then uhhhh try to see how good i can get at NES tetris with the non-rsi-inducing methods
i burned myself out on TGM for a little bit because im back on the bullshit. i hooked my famicom back up to give nestris in all its stiffness another go, but i'm remembering how much 2 + bombliss kicks ass, it's like a nice median between sega tetris '88 and modern guideline, while remaining firmly in the "old school" of tetris variants. tgm1, DX and sega '99 are are the transitional variants that bridge the old school of tetris with the modern tetris (srs guideline & TGM2+3).
