before the power went out last morning i was going off on how ad_sepulcher's closest parallel isn't any level in an old fps, official or user made, but rather the best game for the playstation 2, and the former agricultural productivity software developer from software's eternal masterpiece (if ur a dodgeroll enjoyer stop reading right the fuck now) King's Field IV. the forgotten sepulcher is every bit as good to traverse without any enemies as it to encounter those enemies, sprawling yet tightly woven, folding in and back over itself. nothing comes close, and i'm afraid nothing ever will. pancho and myscha's unreal maps might fit that (especially the sunspire and bluff eversmoking <3 ), but ad_sepulcher is just untouchable. ad_sepulcher is the best use of the first person perspective in all of interactive media, it could have 1/4 of the brushes and still play just as well.

also read elsewhere that honey.bsp is a sewer level, this is incorrect. constantly no respect! just wait till yall play adamantine cruelty, which coincidentally is the the best sewer level of all time (ac, alongside czg03, on their own, is each a better experience than the entirety of doom 2016 two)

i dont have much else to add right now, other than the ID1 maps, especially due to their self-imposed 1.44mb limit, are concise enough to genuinely benefit from being played without midsaves, but also not balanced for shotgun starts (especially in the case of e2). e3 and e4 are just nonstop bangers imo and the most solid bits of level design to ever come out of id. tim willits is a hack.
