SORRY for being so sporadic, got my meds up! and I'm feeling great! So let's talk about witch weather!
-~-~-~-~-~-~-~
Really? In the clutches of a mistress of alchemical and diabolical mysteries and you ask about my calendar? Fine I guess, I'll tell you about witch weather before we have our fun.
Everyone believes witch weather is quiet autumn nights, leaves rustling with a slight breeze. There's a chill in the air, but you're somehow not cold enough to truly get colder than a light jacket could handle.
Well I'm here to tell you that's wrong. Here I stand, watching the crowds go by, sipping on hot chocolate, or chatting with their friends about new potion recipes. Here I am at my booth freezing my hands solid because someone decided to turn all my soft wool gloves into paw mitts. Hhmph.
Anyway!
I will admit, it's a very pretty season, and when it's warm enough where my whole deal doesn't flare up, it's great. Truly spooky weather out here in New England. Owl calls, crow squabbles, the soft crunch of leaves as something with too many teeth stalks you through the underbrush. Ah, home.
The other thing about witch weather is this: You really need it to make a living. No one's going to buy a "Heart"-y Draught of Love when it's 80 degrees out and sunny. They'll just go to the beach and kick back until someone catches their eye. (Not that the love potion really works that way. It's more of an...expansion of someone's own horizons and possibilities. Never had any dissatisfied customers, though.)
Someone picking up a little Drop of Demeter to help their garden? They live in USDA zone 9, it's growing season all year! Even wearing the whole witchy garb would make you sweat to death, south of the Mason-Dixon line.
And have you met the witches in SoCal? Eugh. The less said about that whole cucumber thing, the better.
So I'm pretty content, if a little chilly, cause at least I've got a good amount of customers, a pretty vista, and a captive audience. You really should learn to ask before sampling. Sweet dreams, sweetheart.
mwah!
