The master tapes will still be standard definition - but with vastly superior video archival and processing technologies in the modern age it will undoubtedly look better than it ever has before.
Hell yeah, preserve that beautiful dated CGI. Man, too bad the models themselves are like, probably so old and unusable that we can never get them on modern formats.

The current DVD releases are garbage, so any kind of remaster from the original source would be a real treat! Hopefully they find someone/a team to do things right.
