What do baby amphimorphos look like?

baby amphimorpho are rare, as the species doesn't reproduce often (they were originally designed to not be able to reproduce without human intervention, but uh, y'know, life finds a way?)

babies look very similar to adults, just smaller and floppier! their coat colors are usually very pale after hatching, but will darken to their final coloration in a matter of days. they can see, hear, and move around on their own pretty immediately, but will rely on caretakers for the first two years of their lives before becoming more independent. they reach maturity somewhere around 4 - 5 years old!

if you're talking about how opossums carry their young, like... the pouch is used, during the early weeks. once they're big enough to move about on their own, they tend to climb on their mother's back to travel around until they're too big to do that anymore. the pouch super isn't vestigial. but if you look up "possum piggyback" you'll see a bunch of examples of piles of opossum babies on mom's back that absolutely would not fit in the pouch!
