This is REALLY interesting. Remedy appears to have bought back the publishing rights for Control, Control 2, and the unnamed multiplayer Control spinoff.
Notably, they seem to have gotten the rights really cheap - they're paying back the money that 505 provided for the development of the latter two games and that's basically it. They note that they're considering either self-publishing or shopping the games around to a new publisher, which suggests this isn't a move to go independent.
I'm really curious what's going down here. Is 505 desperate for short-term cash? Is remedy now hoping to get a publisher who can give them alan wake 2 levels of megabucks funding?
