hi everyone,
i've made you a free website you can mess around with and customize and upload and share. here's the link.

this is sort of a fork of the john doe template from my last post, stripped down to make it easier to take apart and understand (plus the code is annotated to make it a little easier to see what does what). if you've never made a website check it out and maybe give it a shot. it's free.

EDIT: pushed a small update to make this look better on phones

UPDATE: free website is now in what i'm calling version 1.5 and i am considering this version final before it gets too complicated to be a useful learning experience. free website. it's for you. go have it.

I ended up breaking it into multiple separate pages and redoing the header entirely, so there's not much left of the original except the General Vibe (inter is a font of choice), but it made a great starting point!

hey there! so i've been playing around with this, and there seems to be something breaking where part of the home section shows up on other pages, and the footer gets doubled. you can see it on the #publish section of your live site. i think it has something to do with how the default display block is implemented. (i'm a novice coder so i'm not sure how to fix the problem, but worked around it)

idk if you intend to keep working on this, but just a heads up! thanks for taking the time to make it :eggbug:

hey! i've also had this problem and I think what's happening is that the homepage is always rendered by default, so the other pages just get slapped overtop of it. that means if the other pages are less tall than the homepage the bottom part of it will stick out. I tried to account for this by giving s a min-height of 110% viewport height. try turning that number up & see if it helps?
