I've been seeing more VRChat hangout worlds that load users into a dead-end at one end of a hallway, with a short walk and a 90-degree turn leading out to the rest of the world. This prevents the spawn area from becoming an overwhelming conversation pit; there's nothing hostile there, but there's also nothing to see or do, so folks are gently encouraged to get themselves situated and walk out into the rest of the world, freeing up the hallway for other new arrivals. It's a good design decision that doesn't appear to be officially documented or suggested by the devs, it's just a problem-solution that the community arrived at organically, and I think that's neat. :3

noticed this in the ShaderFES event/museum too! the only thing near spawn is a portal to the previous event's world. you have to walk forward a bit to even reach the turnstiles and the first lobby area people would talk in, slowly easing you towards the exhibits. it's a nice touch

It kind of backfires sometimes because every now and then I'll join a friend in a world like this and everyone's just hanging out in the spawn corridor and never seeing the rest of the amazing environment.
