day 8 of the yotsuben logo redesign challenge: Black Mesa
the original Black Mesa logo is not bad, it's a little stylized mesa shape in a circle. feels suitably corporate and ominous! when i started working on this one, i really became enamored by the colors of all the mesas i was looking at, and immediately wanted to try to fit that into the design somehow.
soooo as a result it's a three-color design that's more difficult to consolidate into 1 or 2, but should be doable. i'm always thinking about having to print in 1 color, that's just the life of a logo designer. overall, decently happy with it, but am always wondering if i'm teetering too far into "unreadable" with the last orange color at the "A." any darker really started to feel like i was losing the "mesa" feeling, though, so i stuck with it for now.
