i am not a musician i just like warm, warble-y synths - thoughts below:

i'm pretty positive on this album overall, and have been looping it fairly often since launch. i looooove Afterimage, the 2nd half of that song with the extra layers coming in is dope as hell. I'm also big on the combos of Midnight Rendez-Vous into Explorer (some kinda dog thing??? 10 stories tall??? hell yes whatever is going on here), and then Muscle Memory into Harpy Dream into Saturnine, just unparalleled good vibes here. I'm a little sad i listened to the four singles so much, because now they don't hit quite as hard, but that's life. However, i'm gonna listen to an album straight through like 90% of the time anyway, i like how songs build and fit into one another. I am big on Thundercat so obviously The End is a hit with me too. hopefully not actually "the end"

and you know, Dear Alan, pretty great. i've listened to a lot of Alan Braxe over the years so it's nice to see someone do a tribute to him in this way. i realize he's a huge name so it's not like he's hurting for accolades but still. there's a lot of the construction of this album that reminds me of RAM and i dunno if that's just me Boss Baby-ing my way through french house or if there was actually a bit of inspiration taken there.

anyway good album. good music. i like funky disco synth french house shit and justice's twists on that still hits.
