The long-rumored Lego Deku Tree set has finally been officially revealed. Not too bad, all said -- it's a 2-in-1 set with pieces to build it in either the Breath of the Wild or the Ocarina of Time version. Sadly this means some extra pieces are always gonna be left over and will have to go in a bin somewhere. The BotW version has a hollow center for cooking/shops, which is cute! (But also makes the model look slightly odd, imo.) The OoT version has a lever that opens the mouth and reveals a Skulltula.

The Korok printed pieces are perfect, though.

This is coming out on September 1st and is up for pre-order now on Lego's site, but tbh, I wouldn't recommend buying it now unless you're dying to have it ASAP. The set is $300 USD and 2500 pieces, which means the Nintendo tax is like $50. Yikes! (Usually Lego is roughly 10 cents per piece, so this set should be more like $250. Not saying that's cheap either, but, you know). I think including the extra leaf/tree pieces might be bolstering the piece count too, as the model doesn't look that big all said. Reminder: Lego sets stay in print for 1-3 years and it's relatively easy to find info on when a set is going out of print, so you can 100% wait for a sale to counteract the IP surcharge!

Four really nice minifigs (Young Link, Ocarina Link, and BOTW Link and Zelda) is nice too. I'm profoundly glad I'm not a LEGO droid, because otherwise I'd be $300 lighter this morning. The 2-in-1 thing is nice and LEGO-y in a way a lot of these premium collector sets aren't.
