what in the fuck
That is some extreme ridiculous exclusionary bullshit going there.
That it can only happen to a type of person rather than dealing with actual fucking intersectionality and shared experience.
That it is being in a fucking closed box categorization.
it was borderline omnipresent on tumblr, and while it's always going to come off as a little silly to say "on tumblr," i can't possibly overstate the degree to which tumblr was the incubation ground for rhetoric that wound up leeching into physical spaces. many ace people actively recloseted their asexuality in places where they otherwise felt safe being openly trans. things were quite bad!
It is honestly REALLY bad, it is turning identity into weird feuding fandom camps.
I am so sorry, that sucks SO MUCH.
Strict taxonomies and requirements, the person MUST fit the label's requirements, and there is no way for any solidarity to even exist.
Fucking hell.
A lot of it was rooted in TERF ideologies which got laundered heavily on Tumblr by cryptoterfs trying to destroy solidarity. See also 'queer is a slur' discourse.
