one thing i've noticed about playing... well, anything, really... is i tend to fling myself at whatever is in front of me and muddle through with some degree of saving and loading. i'd like to at least try to develop somewhat cleaner and more consistent play. hence, recording some start to finish demos. it doesn't hurt that i don't have much interest, aptitude, or focus for making levels and the amount of stuff out there i'd like to play greatly exceeds the amount of time i have on this earth. plus, there's no point in making stuff if people don't play it.
the thing they don't tell you about recording demos though is you have to pick a thing to record a demo of. ideally it would have levels that are pretty manageable, and preferably not too long, but there's still lots of choices. the latest releases? the classics? shovelware best left behind in the 90s? other things lost to the sands of time? who knows. i'll probably upload them too but really the accomplishment is the point rather than racking up views or whatever. i'll probably consider recording some non-doom stuff too, although that typically doesn't involve producing a demo. it would help if my quake movement was actually good and not that of a small child.
