in other news, looks like ironwail will probably be my source port of choice going forward. it's missing a couple features from joequake that i would have like for recording and capturing demos. i could probably read enough ironwail source to figure this out but i am too tired for that. i'll probably just keep stapling things together in powershell until i figure it out.
i recorded exactly one level so far and wound up mangling the start a bit with ffmpeg, but otherwise it came out alright. the other exciting problem is the quad damage has a slight flicker to its screen effect that causes exciting bitrate problems. maybe there's a mod out there that fixes that.
