what is going on haha, are all these old devs seeing the other leaks and going "oh hey actually I should leak my old code too"
(note: this is not gospel truth; this is all my personal anecdote of stuff I've heard through the grapevine, forum posts, etc)
Apogee/3D Realms was known to keep archives for a lot of the stuff they made back in the day. I recall there being a relatively recent effort between modern-3DR and trusted parties to sift through prototypes and unreleased material to hopefully get everything categorized and released. For probably various legal reasons, luck wasn't on their side and they likely couldn't release any of it, and/or the legal entities involved wanted to make money from it. So it sat for a long time.
My guess is that someone within the 'trusted parties' got fed up just sitting on all this cool stuff, and decided to enact a plan to leak all of it.
