i've been grinding at "find interesting frames from comics and cartoons and anime and try to trace or replicate them" for about a month and i feel like i'm not really improving because i don't know a lot of the foundational stuff underlying what makes a character look appealing.

i'm coming at this from having tried to learn to draw off and on for a good like, 10 years or so? but it feels like i'm still at the very basics like "this is what a face is shaped like" or "so here's how eyes work"
