in reply to @ChevyRay's post:

@bruno is a fallen londen dev who longposts about fallen london, game design, and other topics. his more frequent shortposts are good too

@cathoderaydude is old tech youtuber who occasionally longposts about things he finds in his research

@critdistance does a weekly newsletter of games crit writing from around the internet. they post a link to it here each week, and they've linked to good games crit on cohost in past newsletters

@alyaza longposts on various topics regularly, and also posts from the books they're reading

there are more, but those are a few favorites that came to mind right now.

Gonna lead with a self-recc here, I'm a gamedev/massage therapist but I've found I really enjoy using Cohost for longform essay-writing. Here's a sampling!

As for other people not yet mentioned by other commenters

  • @sarahzedig has a lot of excellent writing, as well as great regular roundups of video essays
  • @ponett has some nice blog posts
  • You probably already know @lutz but if you don't he's great
  • @autumn does some excellent longform writing about games
  • @iro has been known to do goodposts of his own, but also has been doing monthly roundups of his favorite posts on here
