Under an hour to get to Cetus, I forget how long the intro cutscenes last but it's one of the earliest areas. You get more details about the area and the tower as you do the main plot and the Cetus quests though, including the second most recent main plot content which would probably be like 100 hours of playtime to get though? Plus craft times, but crafting is real time so you just queue shit up when you're done playing for now and log off.
You don't need any of the endgame stuff to do the plot, the quests are very much there to ease you into the mid and end game and show you what your options are.
