this exact "super smart delicate princess + invincible bodyguard" dynamic but then they swap places so the princess has all the skills AND the stats & now the bodyguard is put in a position of vulnerability where they have to re-examine the entire way they judge their self-worth because the person they cared for has become self-sufficient
my heart is beating faster just thinking about all the high-quality feels that premise could produce

I would be very down for any iteration you were likely to make on knight/princess, but especially this
i feel like PB & Finn are kinda something adjacent to this to a degree -- it's one of the things that makes the show neat. Half the time, Finn is actually saving things, and the other half is Finn's companions just desperately trying to keep him alive after he leroy-jenkins his way into something, whether it's Jake, PB, FP, Marceline, or someone else, and esp as Finn grows up, the show is more and more about partnership than it is about "Finn saves a princess"
