Uin remains one of my favorite ever PC games and Hero Core, in addition to being just a great game, remains one of my favorite ever game soundtracks, I have just listened to this as an album so many times https://brotherandroid.com/album/hero-core-ost-stereo-expanded-edition

the most recent game like Uin is Cruelty Squad: it builds an entire parallel system of mechanics that never quite intersects that of a regular "game"

I remember Uin but never got far, and trying it now, I can't seem to get past the first puzzle. I love the spooky vibe though!
And yeah hero core (and most of Remar's games tbh) are top notch

OMG I played a bunch of these back when I was in highschool, making games on yoyogames dot com! Mondo medicals (and tbh all of cactus' stuff) was wild. Focus (jesse venbrux) and Iji (remar) are still among my favourite games, and Iji got some significant updates since I played in in like 2008. Uin, I had forgotten, but the emotions from seeing that screenshot tell me I played it through and it had a lasting impact

I know that Hero core and Iji are like Daniel Remar's best known works. But Garden Gnome Carnage will always be a sepcial one for me n_n. What a stupid lovable game.
