More than anything she's just an avatar (though with an overemphasis on various character traits) for me. She and my other characters are almost more like stock characters I can throw into scenarios when I think it'd be fun than anything existing in any sort of solid lore. Zdar is primarily concerned with her own pleasure. She's gluttonous and hedonistic. Sometimes she's a professor, sometimes she's a god, sometimes she's just vibing.

Itzu comes from a planet of Tak, where written history is less than a handful of generations old, in a society resembling Babylon. He lived on the streets off the generosity of the nearby philosopher's guild, who found his public antics amusing and a wonderful discussion point. Itzu resented this relationship but preferred it to starving in the streets. He would eventually join in an uprising and series of adventures that would result in his ejection from the planet via a rapidly disintegrating space-ship that was hidden under the capitol. When the ship he was on exploded, Itzu was thrown randomly across the multiverse, in different times and places across many planes of reality.

He also might be a homonculus of nanotech. And there might be at least two other Tak inside his mind, as well as echoes of the original pilots of the ship he exploded. He's a kinda busy guy.

my cowsnake Marion started out as a dude of unknown sort and somehow got Fucked Up By Space In A Way That Made Them Supernatural In Unknown Ways

their first act in the wake of this was to declare "fuck gender" and reshape themselves to their ideal shape, size, and species (i don't know if they were a cow before). after that, they wanted to use what they had been given for the benefit of others, as they're a sweetie like mooself.

They've been Fucked Up By Space in a way that makes them a reality bender sorta sort of entity, and they use it to uplift people and try to smooth out bumps, fill voids, bring happiness and fix things on small, personal scales across infinity and eternity. Jokes about entropy can be made here.

They struggled with the question of identity even after they'd solved gender. What were they, now that they had This Whole Thing Going On? It was a question they weren't ready to really address, and they grabbed onto mythology as a crutch, electing to go with "demon" because it seemed hot tbh.

Spent an indeterminate amount of time (IRL, 2015-2020/1) trying to fit into the box they'd made for themselves, but it really never fit. It was the baggy clothes you wear when you're not comfortable with body and haven't quite cracked the question of why. (very Trans Allegory, as this was almost a second, more complete and true transition for the moo and I)

The big revelation was that they didn't have to know all the answers, it is okay for the universe to be full of unsolved mysteries and for "what am I, really" to be one of them. All they needed was a line that slipped out in passing and came back to hit them like bricks, a riff on a Sagan quote they'd used to flirt with someone: "If life is a way for the cosmos to know itself, maybe the supernatural is a way for the cosmos to act on that knowledge, to change itself."

That's what they are. They don't know anything further, or more specific, and that's fine with them.

They've recently taken to joking that they're a space cow, and someone pointed out to them that the original myth of the minotaur vibes with that, so they're enjoying that vibe just casually. Not as an answer to who they are, but as a fun way to dress themselves. At some point, they added on the tail of snake because that was fun.

the backstory for my hyena fursona/OC Jaryl is that he and his wingless dragon husband Jin kinda hit a midlife crisis while in their early 30s, so they decided to quit their jobs to go travel around and explore the world (which I imagine is like the worlds in JRPG and Action Adventures, very friendly for adventurers and explorers, and with lots of wilderness and monsters inbetween each town and city).

During travels they get into all sorts of different adventures, which I'm still kinda sorta attempting to write into stories, but lack of time and motivation is kinda making that difficult at the moment :'D

They're both cool as heck, IMO!! And yeah, that kind of setting really does match the vibes your characters give off?

Also, absolutely huge mood on ~trying to write stories but not really getting a ton done~. I'm in the middle of some pretty extensive, uh, setting development that will eventually be the basis of a music project, so—

Mark used to work in a early gnostic-monastery as a domesticated proto-monk-helper lynx, before walking too far from the courtyard grounds one day and being flung WAYYYYYYY into the future for breaking a curse he never knew he had. spent a lot of time trying to readjust to modern societal conventions and technology, along with some religious trials and tribulations, and is now a cute little cat enby who goes mrow meow mjau purr. sometimes he kind of has some old occultic cultural holdovers (such as making and wearing certain ceremonial garb, writing in Coptic and Koine Greek, etc), and has trouble using some newer tech, but is constantly changing and evolving and learning about stuff! a Good Lil Kitty™, still very much a pet, but now in a... different way, to say the least.
