Gen 2, just barely. I played a lot of Crystal as a kid, but I got it not too long before gen 3 came out. At that point I played both fairly equally, and for a long time I considered Gen 2 my favorite, but I had to be honest with myself when I noticed that the game I always went back to later was Emerald, not Crystal.
