omg Steam achievements must be so horrible for developers

I glanced down at them after closing a game last night and it was, like, grats! 92% of players have killled their first enemy!

...which means that 8%, an entire 8% of Steam-mediated players of this combat-heavy game, never bothered to clear or even see most of the tutorial level, and that's conveniently quantified right there for the devs and everyone else to see

I personally wouldn't do it, but considering how data obsessed some developers are, I could also see a scenario where developers put these kinds of achievements in their games to see how far players got into their games, before they stopped playing, (or in this case, if they even booted it up at all) without having to use player stat tracking.
