Since the internet at large needs reminding of this again: the purpose of "you can be trans without taking hormones" is to give people permission to call themselves trans, and to think of themselves as trans. It's not a grand conspiracy to take your hormones away from you.
If you want to fight for your right to take hormones, make sure you're taking aim at the politicians passing laws restricting them, the doctors gatekeeping them, the insurance companies refusing to cover them, and anyone baselessly overhyping the dangers of self-medication. Do not take aim at trans people just trying to live their lives and support each other please and thank you.
Not quite the same thing but it's reminded me: it's been a bugbear of mine for absolutely years that we have this stupid argument about whether or not you need to have dysphoria to be trans, but it's also a matter of giving people permission to call themselves trans before they can recognise if they're experiencing dysphoria.
