(also forgot to mention saiyuuki world 2 is aka whomp em, wonder boy 5 is aka the dynastic hero, and that "the sequel to adventure island" can refer to adventure island 2 (game boy) aka adventure island 3. also "the sequel to monster world" can't refer to monster world 3. but you can see why)
other fun facts:
- "the sequel to monster world" can refer to 3 separate games across 7 different names
- "the sequel to adventure island" can refer to 5 different games across 9 different names, 1 of which is "adventure island", 2 of which each refer to 2 different games (well one has 3 kinda), 1 of which is a game in common and the other, "adventure island 2", refers to the sequel game also known as "adventure island"
- wonder boy 4, wonder boy 3, monster world 2, and adventure island can all be either the same game or different games (ok i lied a bit, you have to pick one of wonder boy 4 or monster world 2 because those are always the same game)
- monster world 2 didn't come out in japan until after monster world 3, except the pc engine version "adventure island" which came out a few months before monster world 3. even this version was released first in the west as "dragon's curse". so for like two years this was a game for the western market
