draguar, (aus.) shepherd, leopard

Well, haven't been on social media for a bit, so here goes nothing. Passionate, polyamorous, non-binary, neo-taíno + 20th century sephardic heritage critter, with Southern roots and Opinions about activism and justice. I don't know what to make of myself any more, so I'll leave it to you. The headmates might also show up occasionally. Don't worry, they're nice.

ugh that’s such a “welp, now i am going to disengage from this space forever because they do not deserve my presence” kind of moment. or sucks that so many places on the internet are unfriendly/hostile to trans women. i hope you’re having a much better experience on cohost

thank you for understanding and i have been here since 2022 haha and yes overwhelmingly more positive. honestly i never thought that the "trans friendly means afab friendly" meme would happen to me but here we are. all the mods are white cis women with one she/they (i'm positive one trans user used to be a mod but she apparently stepped down) which tracks

you’d think being a mod to a diverse queer online circle would prompt you to extend your worldview and examine your biases, very disappointing that wasn’t the case with them :P “trans friendly means afab friendly” mentalities/spaces fucking SUCK. and they’re often only friendly to afab people that fit their shitty mold. im afab but 99% of the experiences ive had with people disrespecting/dismissing/erasing my gender and lived experience has been with cis women and some (not a lot of) tme trans people even as they’re actively claiming to be trans friendly. it’s like the only thing they can handle is this weird defanged, palatable version of transness

I LITERALLY AM ONE IN A COMMUNITY ALMOST AS LARGE AS THIS AND I'M SO MUCH BETTER AT IT

Thankfully this community is pretty good on transmasc issues and genderfluidity and beauty standards cough because the most toxic person on it, the one saying the first part of the transphobia, is a black transmasc person (as well as a bunch of other users don't get me wrong) which in its own way is refreshing because that might actually be a bit rarer than sapphic communities having good transfem politics? idk? But yeah the important part of these conversations has always been the parallelism we see in each other's experiences
