A single fireteam using small arms could easily eliminate the batter leaving no threat to the pitcher at all and obviating the need for special pitching tactics.
i think baseball pitchers should throw the ball at the umpire's weak points, removing them from the match and by proxy eliminating all of the rules. that would really throw the batter off their game.
