Anonymous User asked:

are there actually hypnotic songs or is that a fictional idea?

primarily fictional although people certainly do make "binaural beats" tracks and/or audio with subliminal instructions, both are fun to listen to. it's not the kind of thing that sounds like regular music or could be mistaken for it. there are a ton of binaural beats videos on the internet purporting to be for sleep, meditation, hypnosis, pineal gland decalcification, any such thing; it refers to slow, rhythmic playing one note in one ear and a different tone in another. pleasant on its own or as a backing track to someone's voice and claimed to have some effects boosting relaxation and focus. and most of what the hypno community calls "subliminals" in audio are "whispering that's a little bit hard to hear" which is entirely liminal. the pithy line is "if this worked you would see it in mcdonalds commercials" - it's basically for fun and playing off the expectations of how it works in fiction.

in general you need to consciously hear the instructions and want to follow them for irl hypnosis to do anything. being told "i'm gonna play this relaxing music for you and at the end you'll be unable to disobey me" can be instructions when properly presented and received! it's just not the song that did that

it's been awhile since i listened to any prerecorded file stuff... it's generally less effective than having a live session with someone that knows you and can adjust to your reactions but maybe a pair of earbuds and some neutral basic binaurals would be a fun prop to ask sir about..

Hypnotic music is a common fantasy theme mostly bc it's a hot and compelling idea (see: the post this anon was in response to, lol). Fun for audiophiles or even just fantasy nerds (hi sirens).

The only time I've heard of hypnosis working when the subject isn't receiving directly comprehensible instructions has been via a tist with established rapport speaking another language, and in that case the subject is dropping via expectation, rapport, and understanding the intent behind the voice and cadence.
